Zac and Fiona
Meet Zac who is taking on his first ever half marathon at the LLHM. This is a milestone he never imagined reaching, but one that now carries deep personal meaning. Zac and his partner Fiona, experienced three miscarriages before welcoming their daughter, and when she was just five months old, they discovered they were expecting twins.
The pregnancy soon became complicated when their twins were diagnosed with Selective Fetal Growth Restriction. It was a frightening and confusing time, and Zac and his partner found themselves searching for clarity, reassurance and real experiences from other families.
Through Tommy’s, they were able to learn more about the condition and connect with others facing similar journeys. The charity became a source of information, comfort and hope at a time filled with uncertainty.
Zac and Fiona are now proud parents to identical twins, aged four months, as well as their daughter, aged 18 months. Their journey to parenthood has not been straightforward, but it has made them deeply grateful for the care, community and understanding they found along the way.
“ I am running to give back to Tommy’s after everything they helped us understand during the twins’ pregnancy. It was a very stressful and emotional time, and Tommy’s gave us information, reassurance and a sense that we were not alone. This half marathon feels like a way to turn a tough journey into something positive.”
