Felicity

“Running gives me space to process grief, to move through emotion, and to carry him with me.”

Felicity, is taking on LLHM 2026 with deep purpose and a full heart. This year, she is running in memory of her dad, Simon Burridge, and in support of the British Heart Foundation, a cause that has become incredibly important to her.

Felicity took part in the 2022 London Landmarks Half Marathon and after crossing the finish line, her world changed. Her phone had been on Do Not Disturb during the race, and when she switched it back on she learned that her dad had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.

He had been airlifted to the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Felicity rushed back home. Her dad spent nine days in intensive care but sadly never recovered. He passed away on 12 April 2022.

Running has become Felicity’s way of coping. It gave her moments of stillness, a way to process grief, and a space to feel close to her dad.

In terms of taking part in the LLHM again Felicity feels honoured to be running it again. This year is especially emotional because it marks the fourth anniversary of her dad’s passing saying

I run in his memory, not just for fitness, but for healing. Taking part helps me turn grief into something positive while raising awareness of heart health and supporting the British Heart Foundation. After losing my dad to a cardiac arrest, I gained a deep appreciation for the charity’s research, education and lifesaving resources. Supporting the BHF feels like an important way to honour his memory and to help others affected by heart and circulatory conditions."
